A leading Online Travel Agency (OTA) is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their flight's product team, reporting to the Senior Product Manager. 

As a Business Analyst, you are involved in the development from concept through to delivery and will need to support multiple teams and requirements. The role is wide-ranging, with a typical working day likely to involve: 

  • Supporting teams working on a current Ideas.

  • Analysing current and next up user stories in the backlog: just-in-time requirements elicitation; investigating when more information is required; providing business context and detailed insight to the team on ideas and looking for alternative innovative solutions to problems. 

  • Supporting Product and development teams and the wider business in gathering information to make informed decisions. 

  • Communicating with stakeholders. 

  • Facilitating stand-ups, retrospectives, demos and workshops. 

  • Agile coaching: spotting potential issues with the team and helping to solve them; ensuring a constant focus on delivering business benefit whilst understanding the value of developing the “Minimum Viable Product”; challenging decisions when required and promoting effective communication. 

  • Working closely with Product and Technical Team Leads on all matters concerning your team(s) 

  • Analysing and prioritising upcoming Ideas… 

  • Idea sense checking: reviewing and investigating new ideas to prepare them for development. 

  • Ensuring Ideas are underpinned by a well-defined hypothesis 

  • Understanding the problem statement or opportunity behind an idea, rather than taking a pre-packaged solution at face value. 

  • Contributing to the prioritisation process, ensuring it is balanced and fair. 

The ideal candidate:  

  • You will have experience in the travel industry and a passion for travel technology within the flight's arena, and be well versed in all things like GDS, NDC, LCC, Aggregators, Consolidators, Fare Types but to name a few.

  • You will thrive in technical detail as you collaborate with the flight engineering team and be excited to drive, contribute and shape tomorrow’s flight strategy. 

  • Have the passion to ensure it can acquire the very best flight content, from multiple sources and to make that content as accurate as possible for booking, when and where required. 

  • Communication and collaboration are fundamental to the way you work.

  • Business Analysts work closely with people across the entire organisation but most directly with the Product and flights engineering team.

The ability to communicate effectively at all levels is a must, so you’ll need skills in visual and diagramming to make requirements come alive for everyone involved. Strong presentation and facilitation skills will be invaluable. These are normally in the format of user stories but can also include business and data flow diagrams.
