A dynamic B2B travel company is on a hunt for a Software Tester with expertise in web-based application testing to join their team in Hertfordshire.

The ideal candidate will be confident in working within a team and independently, working on a wide range of products and will need a good technical understanding of software as a service-based product.

Job Description:

  • All responsibilities of test planning, prioritization and execution.
  • Continually ensure that testing is hand in hand with development.
  • Acquire and maintain the appropriate domain/industry/application knowledge to make good decisions on coverage.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with developers and support teams.
  • Work towards additional Unit, System, UAT, exploratory and regression coverage relating to defects, new products and any other circumstances where testing can be utilized by the business to improve quality or confidence.
  • Design and implement documentation relating to any items under test including but not limited to Test Plans, Test Cases, Version control of specification, format and requirements of tickets, unit test documentation, overall test strategy/instructions and examples (should additional resource be required).
  • Interaction with clients/stakeholders at any time where a testing presence could be beneficial.
  • Report on the status of items in test along with useable data to allow analysis for improvement - relates to common areas, number of critical defects, repeating issues.
  • Design processes for items coming through test including but not limited to: shared unit coverage between development and test, documentation strategy, defined interval ticket and test reporting.
  • Define day-to-day test activity.
  • Manage test workload and provide time estimates where needed

Essential Skills required:

  • Experience with web-based software and QA/UX methodology.
  • Proven (2/3 years) experience in software testing.
  • A proactive approach to learning and investigating problems.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills – Proven ability to engage and interact with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Working within a team and independently.
  • A strong eye for detail / Critical thinking.
