A global hotel booking platform provider supplying hotel rooms to travellers around the globe are looking for a Solutions Architect to join their UK team.
As a Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in building the Hotel Platform for the Hotel Product and Technology group. This position requires an individual to solve problems, deep experience in software development, Agile and DevOps processes and a drive to experiment with new technologies. The Solution Architect will be responsible for overall solution architecture and design, participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, and improve systems and processes within a growing team.
Main responsibilities:
Align Business and Technology Strategies
Ensure that the product strategy and vision is aligned with the technical capabilities.
Work with Sales and Marketing to communicate the technical capabilities of the hotel platform.
Work with domain architect to provide an architecture that supports product requirements.
Act as a liaison between Product and Technology teams to design and optimize processes assist with translation from high-level business requirements to detailed design.
Work with development teams to define appropriate monitoring capabilities for technical operations and KPIs for business operations and Finance.
Work with the Data & Analytics team to identify opportunities to use data to support new product development.
Produce solution blueprints
Ensure operational excellence with Business and Technical Operations
Support production readiness reviews to ensure that product releases are ready to go live
Serve as subject matter expert to triage production issues and ensure that the proper parties are engaged with production incidents
Perform root cause analysis for technical issues, and defective processes
Assist the product team in the management of technical debt and prioritization of fixes for customer-impacting defects
Represent Hotel Product & Technology internally and externally as a subject matter expert
Maintain relationships with suppliers, partners, clients, and industry organizations to keep abreast of new developments and opportunities.
Specific Skills:
GDS and other hotel distribution interfaces preferred
Ability to see the big picture
Experience in software engineering and design architecture
Demonstrated experience in web-based applications using various frameworks, technologies, and cloud-based infrastructure
Broad-based knowledge of current and emerging technologies, tools and techniques.
Ability to perform root cause analysis by observing the symptoms of a problem and tracing them back to a root cause
Design, implementation, and tuning of high-volume enterprise applications
Able to perform due diligence on product and technology companies
Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
Able to introduce new ideas and processes and lead teams to adopt them

Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of previous technical experience for Solution Architect
Hospitality and travel industry experience preferred
The ideal candidate has experience in a cross-functional role
