A major B2B Travel company supporting travellers worldwide, offering secure, cost-effective, policy compliant, multi-channel and bookable reservation solutions are on a hunt for a DATA Engineer (Java)with proven expertise in SQL Server, SQL, Impala, Hive, Agile methodologies, Java8, SpringCore, Spring Boot, RestAPI, Apache, Linux etc.
Core Technologies:
SQL: Oracle, SQL Server, Impala, Hive
Server: Apache, Nginx, Linux, Server Administration
Language: Java 8, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST API, Junit, Mockito, Spark, Scala
SCM: Github, Subversion or equivalent
Agile: Exposure to Agile methodologies and Rally, JIRA or any various Agile oriented tools
Purpose: Participates as technical expert in design, development, testing, of major new software and data pipelines to existing software which may include applications over multiple platforms. Working closely with Development teams and existing Data Engineers.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provides application development leadership for new and existing data pipelines.
Partners with users and product owners in understanding expectations.
Advises/recommends activities as related to system/architectural direction and strategy.
Creates and maintains code and documentation.
Research new technologies to enhance current system and tools.
Acts as subject matter expert in all things data related.

Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, Agile Methodology preferred.
Big Data and Oracle Cloud experience (desirable).
Travel industry experience (desirable)
