As a Product Manager in the Content and Data team, your goal is to enable the delivery of data products and reporting outputs which supports the strategy and business objectives.

You will be responsible for assisting in the definition of product strategy and roadmap of product enhancements both tactical and strategic. You will be accountable for developing and executing on the plans necessary to support the full development life-cycle and revenue commitment for product line. You will understand the technical and competitive environment. You will be working with other teams in the organization such as other technology departments, marketing, finance, sales and operations/support.

The skills you will have to be successful in this role include:

  • Participating in the innovation process and demonstrate a thorough understanding and execution of agile product methodologies

  • Understanding geographical and business needs and aggregating feedback to help define the product.

  • Understanding the technical landscape to help shape hotel data and reporting strategy, including promotion of the use of the data repositories and analytical tools available to ensure all decision-making is data driven

  • Collaborating with other reporting functions to ensure scope, business process definition and division of responsibilities with regards to hotel data and reporting is well defined and assisting in the development of hotel data and reporting best practices and governance

  • Working with technical teams and other stakeholders, assist in the definition and maintenance a functional product roadmap, vision, strategy and appropriate project plans based on current and future needs of business partners and shares these across business and product and technology groups

  • Within projects, providing a prioritization of the work to be done, based on business, technical and company needs.

  • Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure that requirements are fully documented and scope is cleared defined and agreed upon at a level of granularity that is consumable and meaningful for technical teams.

  • Supporting the organisation and maintenance of timelines, status, risks and issues to provide transparency on all work to stakeholders, business partners and technical teams.

  • Acting as the subject matter expert, work closely with internal development teams throughout delivery cycle

  • Providing guidance and support to external development teams and service providers so as to deliver against roadmap items

  • Providing support for product release testing and deployment

  • Developing and embedding post-production product support processes

  • Working closely with the relevant business resources regarding go-to-market activity and operational processes

  • Defining and reporting on KPIs as required to support products and projects as well as providing informative regular and ad-hoc reporting outputs to meet the business needs

  • Participating in the delivery of ad-hoc projects as required by the business or product and technology

  • Driving product analytics strategy to build a thorough understanding of product usage, improvement opportunities and the value of new features delivered

  • Driving and executing a continuous product discovery process to evaluate, design, prototype, test, refine and validate existing solutions

  • Following and analysing competing products and services to identify gaps and opportunities for product improvement

Experience & education:

  • 4-7 years in product analysis in an international environment and fast pace product evolution, OR

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; and 2+ years' relevant experience required

  • Previous international/global experience and proven success working in a multi-cultural environment

  • Preferred experience within the B2B travel, hospitality, airline, GDS sector or other global network service related companies

  • Successful previous product and project management experience

  • Strong change management process knowledge & experience

  • Experience of communicating information concisely and clearly across geographies and teams.

  • Experience with Agile development, including the use of project management tools (such as JIRA).

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs)

  • Excellent technical skills with commonly used reporting and data-mining tools - Excel, SQL (Impala, Hive), Tableau and Thoughtspot preferred

  • Strong data management, analytics and problem solving capabilities

  • Ability to handle multiple projects.

  • Capable of synthetic reasoning

  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
